The Orchid Estates at Poipu offer a uniquely serene oceanfront location on the southwest corner of the island of Kauai, the most lush of the Hawaiian Islands. Views of the big blue Pacific and the setting sun, the gentle roll of the surf along the shore, and the abundance of multi-hued orchids and emerald green fauna are ever-present reminders of the tropical setting.
Situated at the end of a quiet residential lane within hand sculpted lava rock walls and flowering gardens, The Orchid Estates are a private enclave of three superlative two-story luxury private villas, each approximately 2,500 square feet. The three private villas form one exclusive compound of approximately one half acre in size. They may be rented separately for 4 guests each, or as one estate-quality property with as many as 6 bedrooms for up to 12 persons.
Two of the three villas, Kaipani and Lilinani, are set directly on the ocean with panoramic sea views and individual ocean front plunge pools and hot tub spas. The third villa, Emmanani, is nestled in an intimate shaded garden of mature coconut palms and mango trees with it's own courtyard swimming pool and spa hot tub.
These artfully designed homes depict the romantic and casually elegant style of Hawaii in the 1930's and 1940's. The floor plans are open and relaxed. A great room adjoins the main floor master bedroom, bathroom suite and den-office with its own half bath. These private quarters extend to the outdoors by way of their own individual lanais. A second floor master bedroom, balcony and bathroom suite create a perfect haven to view sunsets, palm trees or blue ocean water below. Each master bedroom suite is blessed with air conditioning. Additionally, each home provides high speed internet service, an indoor whirlpool spa bath tub with separate shower, a large outdoor living lanai for open air dining and relaxing, a gorgeous fully equipped gourmet kitchen, ceiling fans, several televisions, VCR, digital stereo with Bose speakers, laundry center with washer and dryer, gas BBQ grill, fine five-star hotel quality beds, hammocks and sun umbrellas, an office area with multiple phone lines and a fax machine, down filled furnishings, and many other luxury appointments found only in the finest hotels.
The villas feature handcrafted details that are complimented by rich period style furnishings, antiques from Europe and Asia, along with Italian linens and objets d' art.
The Orchid Estates are located on Kauai's sunny Poipu Coast with its incomparable string of crescent shape beaches. Opportunities for relaxation and fun abound in the immediate area. Guests may walk less than one block to a small sandy swimming beach known locally as "Baby Beach". Snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, playing golf or tennis, sunbathing on a sandy beach, kayaking along plentiful rivers, hiking, ocean cruising or sailing, or enjoying fine island cuisine can all be arranged by your concierge. And of course, you may also choose to just recline in your hammock between the palms and listen to the sounds of the surf or read a good book.
Guests who are considering renting only one or two of the three villas should expect the other homes to be occupied concurrently by other guests. Guests do not share the individual facilities of each house unless renting as one group. While there is an abundance of lush plantings between the homes to provide some privacy, it may be possible to see and or hear your neighbors. In order to have exclusive privacy please consider renting all three villas at one time on a buy-out basis.
