At Kauai Bali Hai Estate fragrant trade winds waft gently into the living quarters where luxury and comfort characterize the interior.
This residential estate enjoys a special relationship with its environment, thoughtfully stated by linked water vistas flowing gracefully from koi pond and water garden to the beach front swimming pool to the reef-fringed lagoon and beyond to the boundless Pacific. Bali Hai Peak, with its resplendent canopy of lush greenery, meets the sea at a romantic beach made famous by the film classic "South Pacific". From the property you may step directly onto warm sands where there is a lagoon with calm and clear turquoise swimming waters. The lagoon is fringed by a centuries old off-shore coral reef. Waves, breaking some distance from the beach over the coral reef, create a hypnotic sleep inducing murmur.
This Ralph Anderson designed Polynesian hideaway consists of 6,500 square feet of living space of which over 4,000 square feet is set in marble. The framework is solid Burmese teak which was custom-milled on site and the roof is capped with fish-scale style ceramic roof tiles imported from Thailand. Other notable features include an acre of privacy-gated grounds, a large beachside swimming pool, home gym and exercise room, private office, media room, koi meditation pond, Japanese style dining room with shoji doors and sunken well seating, surround sound stereo system, and 8.5 bathrooms. A Balinese lounging day bed in the living room is framed by wrap-around glass windows with vistas of Bali Hai Peak, the golden sandy beach, azure seas, and brilliant orange and crimson Kauai sunsets. Kauai Bali Hai is well suited for entertaining with its natural beauty, abundant guest amenities, and the incomparable views from the kitchen, dining room, and living room.
An enchanting retreat-like ambiance is created by the thoughtful application of esoteric Indian principals which dictated the position of the dwelling so as to remain in harmony with its natural environment. The surroundings are further enhanced by a sprawling manicured grass lawn shaded by mature pine trees, brilliant blooming flora such as orchid plants, iris, lilly pads, lotus blossoms, and red ginger flowers, and abundant use of antique Asian decorations including a gong and meditative Buddhist statuary.
Gourmet cooks will appreciate the 68 degree, commercial size walk-in cool room which keeps local produce farm fresh and wine palatably chilled and will have at their disposal top-of-the-line appliances such as dual Gaggeneau gas ranges and convection ovens, dual Traulsen refrigerators, Traulsen freezer, instant hot water dispenser, dual reverse osmosis water purification system, dual dish washers, triple sinks, industrial quality gadgets including mixer, food processor, and DCS brand stainless outdoor BBQ grill.
Kauai Bali Hai is located a few minutes by car from Hanalei and the prestigious Princeville Resort where there are golf courses, health club with gym, racquet club, spa, horseback riding, helicopter rides, commuter airport for small jets, boutiques, and charming bistros and fine dining restaurants. The property does not have air conditioning. The swimming pool is not heated. A caretaker resides on property in the lower garden side.
